Burr Ridge Retreat

By King's Landscape Design

After inheriting a dilapidated deck surrounded by overgrown trees and shrubs, the new homeowners were eager to transform their outdoor living space. An unusable deck was replaced with a natural stone patio that complimented the palette found within the architecture of the house. Comfortable landings and steps were added to bring the patio elevation down to the existing grade, allowing for a smooth transition into the back yard. A stacked stone retaining wall and masonry seat walls were strategically located in order to expand the usable patio space further out into the sloped back yard. A double-sided fireplace and outdoor kitchen are accompanied by cedar shade structures to provide relief on a hot summer day.
