The existing hardscaping had limited functionality and no longer fit the needs of our client's growing family. Our design increased the patio size, creating separate areas for gardening, grilling, dining, and lounging. The patio is elevated, which permitted reuse of the gravel and sand base - accomplishing another goal of our client to reuse as many existing materials as possible. The patio steps down to a fire pit area, constructed of bluestone and reused clay pavers. Additional features include mortared limestone built-in planters and grill surround, walks and stepstones to increase circulation throughout the yard, a large urn for seasonal color rotations, fresh landscaping, and landscape lighting. This project exemplifies how collaboration with clients creates the perfect end result. Whether tending the garden, grilling dinner, or relaxing by the fire, there is something for everyone to enjoy in this updated back yard.
