Suburban Oasis

Our clients purchased a pastoral 2-acre property for their modern prairie style custom new home. Though the site was picturesque, it was very poorly drained, the neighborhood often flooded, had high deer pressure and relied on well and septic. Our clients envisioned a welcoming oasis for hosting large gatherings of friends and family while also providing intimacy for their immediate family to enjoy on a daily basis. They valued privacy, safety, durability, easy functionality, lots and lots of color and seasonal change as well as an organic garden and chicken coop. They also sought eye catching vistas from all of the main windows of the home along with interesting textural juxtapositions of the plants and hardscape materials. Because they are an active family, their wish list included a lap/recreational pool, hot tub, fire pit, garden shed/cabana, open lawn area to play soccer, football, hockey as well as an outdoor fitness training area.
