This Lincoln Park home desperately needed a landscape that could enhance its gorgeous, contemporary classic architecture. Project goals were to modernize the landscape and increase privacy, function, and greenery throughout. Bringing the front walk across the entire front yard, we framed views into a miniature courtyard, installing stairs to basement windows previously cut off behind a retaining wall. The garden now opens to the walk and house, with a modern water feature and specimen Japanese maple visible from outside and within. Hardscape changes and plantings transformed the rear terrace with porcelain-clad fireplace, outdoor kitchen and privacy screening. A garage level, multi-season entertainment space including a pergola, integrated TV accent wall, aluminum screening, and plantings provides privacy from neighbors a few feet away. An angled platform built for green roof trays, with recessed round planters for Aspens, brings greenery into the space impactfully.
