The goal was to remove an overgrown area that consisted of large pine trees. The main focus was to lessen the vehicle traffic sounds to the homes that backed up to a large regional shopping mall, as well as creating a privacy barrier for the homes that have a direct vision of the mall. This project began with the removal of a large cluster of declining pine trees and repair of the soil. The first phase was the installation of an arborvitae wall. The second phase was to install a retaining wall to assist in correcting the soil erosion. The third phase incorporated the planting of various species that complimented the community with a variety of pops of colors. The final phase was the installation of the irrigation system that further enhanced the area of this enhancement landscaping plan.
